Cora still hasn't lambed. I saw her bred on Dec. 26 so I had her due date marked on the calendar as May 22. She must not have taken at that breeding, but at a later date. You can see in the photo that she's got a nice bag going, but her tummy isn't very big. Maybe she's due 16 days later than I thought?
Here's a shot of Harley's fleece, he may be lightening up some. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.
And finally, here's a shot of our new pole building. They finished it on Friday. Now we need some class five fill brought in and the water line and electricity added. Then we can fix up an area in back for the sheep.
Woohoo! Congrats on the nice, new building! The "barn-shed" we added onto our barn a year or two ago sure came in handy last night. At 11:30, after putting in six and a half tons of hay, we could back the flatbed trailer loaded with another three and a half tons under shelter and leave it for another day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle! You know, hay storage was the main reason we had this built. We have a pole building on our 40 acres in Ogilvie, MN, which we can use to store our hay, but there we have to use small squares so we can bring them back home with the truck and trailer. I really want to switch to the big squares (lots less work!) and we can only do that if we have storage right here at home where the sheep are.
ReplyDeleteSo this year should be our first with the large squares. Yay!
