Just to let everyone know, my Facebook account was hacked this month. I couldn't get back in or even see what was happening on it, so I had to let it go. I started a new account for Instagram (@utechtfeltnfiber), but I don't plan to go back to Facebook due to the total lack of support they give hacked accounts.
My flock is scheduled to be sheared in TWO days. It's always a nervous time for me, but so rewarding when it's over. The only reason I have the sheep is for their beautiful fleeces. And it seems that each day that goes by at this time of year, they get their fleeces a bit more contaminated and/or felted. I'm so lucky to have a great shearer, Jim Peterson from Fredric, Wisconsin. He's fast, reliable, punctual, and does a great job.
I'm also about to fire up the incubator to check the fertility of my English Orpington breeding groups. I have a Silver Laced pen, a Chocolate pen, and a Partridge pen. I only have one Silver Laced hen though, so I'm setting 24 eggs from that pen in hopes of getting some of hers to hatch. In that pen are a few Chocolates, a Jubiliee, a Black Mottled, and two Black, and two Lavender hens.
I would LOVE to see your various colors of English Orpingtons!
ReplyDeleteFB is a mess. I enjoy IG. Would love to see your chickens too!
