Upcoming Classes!

 

Last year about this time I was headed to Norway with my friend Sue Flanders for a week-long Skinnfell class at Raulands Akademiet, thanks to a fellowship from the American Scandinavian Foundation's Folk Arts in the Upper Midwest.  It was a truly fantastic time! I was lucky to get the only white set of skins while everyone else chose the gray Gotland skins. I also did a small black lambskin to which I intended to attach weaving, but then I loved the design so much I couldn't cover it up. When I got home I attached my weaving to an Icelandic skin.

This year has been flying by! I've got my garden in, the irises and peonies have bloomed, the sheep have been shorn (and half the fleeces are skirted!), chicks have hatched and the excess roosters are finally in the freezer or placed in new homes. 

Our yard has been going crazy with all the rain we've gotten lately. Thankfully my trusty electric lawn mower has been a life saver. Sid has been doing some Bobcat work on the yard, trying to keep the woods from taking over completely. Hopefully I will have the place somewhat together by the time I host the Minnesota Feltmakers Guild class in a couple weeks.  

I've taught several classes already this year. I really enjoy teaching and meeting new people. Here's my teaching schedule for remainder of this year:
